Frequently Asked Questions

Question:

How do I schedule a training class?

Answer:

Simply contact us using our "Contact" page (above). Tell us what course(s) you want and the dates that you prefer and we will get you scheduled on our training calendar.

(This question gets asked a lot, so we will answer it more than once. See below for more information.)

Question:

What is the difference between Phase I, Phase II and Phase III courses?

Answer:

Phase I (beginning) teaches new students how to safely handle, load and unload ammunition. It teaches the 5 fundamentals of marksmanship, how to shoot the firearm and proper cleaning methods and storage.

Phase II (Bravo Series Training and Personal Protection) is a series of courses designed for both Intermediate and Advanced skill levels. This series of training was designed to “fine tune”  marksmanship skills for target shooting. It will also transition students from “target shooting” to “personal protection” training (also known as “Combat Shooting”). Bravo is a series of training courses designed for police officers, police recruits and for those who want, or already have CCWs and want to become more skilled and confident. It is also for students who are already familiar with firearms, or have recently completed both Phase 1 courses and want to learn how to protect themselves and their families.

Phase III (CCW training, competition shooting & advanced law enforcement) This is Combat Shooting that adds holster work and movement shooting. These courses require training at ranges that allow drawing from holsters and shooting while moving.

Phase IV (tactical for law enforcement only) Tactical room clearing and searching and building entries.

Question:

How do I register for a class?

Answer:

Please contact us by calling, or going to our "Contact" page above and send us your information with your inquiry. We can discuss the courses you are interested in, then we will e-mail (or mail) the appropriate registration forms. To confirm registration of your course date, the completed required forms and full payment will need to be received by us to confirm a training date. Registration information is located on each registration form.

Question:

I am a beginning student. Which courses do you recommend for me?

Answer:

The course we recommend for a new student is our Phase One courses  (Complete Pistol 1 & 2 or First Steps Rifle).

Question:

Do I need to own, or buy a handgun before attending your Complete Pistol Course?

Answer:

No.

We provide different pistols for you to try out free of charge. Then after class you can make an educated purchase of the pistol that you like.

Question:

I have purchased a carbine or rifle, what optics do you recommend?

Answer:

First we would need to know what type of long gun it is and what the intended use will be. This information will help us in providing you with our opinion.
